Complete album with 50 cards issued in the 1930s. As can be seen the cover is detached but the rest of the album is tight bound. Slight bumping to the corners and light foxing to the covers. The cards are in good condition for their age and all the cards are in place. See image.

9 colour real photographic postcards of locos and trains associated with the Steamtown Railway Museum, Carnforth. (Most approx 150 x 105 mm). Condition of three of these cards is very good; one has a slight crease & has an unused stamp on it; two have a little creasing not affecting the face and two have observable creases to the face and one has had a scrap of sellotape on the reverse.

3 Hall class, 3 Castle class and 3 cards of City of Truro. Approx 5.8 x 4 inch (145 x 105 mm). All of these cards are unused and in very good condition.

Postcard printed before 1922. The London and North Western Railway built this gantry with high level repeaters as a girder bridge built by the Great Central to carry the London Extension over the LNWR in front of the signals obscured existing signals. The Great Central had to build, at its own expense, this huge set of new signals. However in poor visibility the top level could not be seen, so the lower signals were still necessary. The L&NWR ceased business in 1922, the gantry lasting until 1939. The card is a little scruffy with faint shadows near the corners, visible on the image. The card has clearly been glued into an album during its life. It is postally unused and shows the badge of the L&NWR, verso, by whom it was published. A special, unusual and sought after card.

Opened 1873, on the new Bristol and North Somerset Railway to Radstock. Closed to passengers 1959 and to goods in 1963. Details from label on the back which also says Photo: Lens of Sutton. In the photo: Foster, B’ton. Very good condition.
